The Cattle Crush Getting Smarter for Improved Results

Cattle crush - New Bridge Services

Cattle crushes are going through quick advancements and this is happening for all good reasons. The aim of advancement is at controlling the flow of cattle so that they are free to move from one place and another and there are minimum accidents. The basic difference lies at the remote control of the sliding door at the back of the crush while there is strict need of hydraulic doors at the end of the feed race. This will help in making it easier to manage the flow of animals into the system in a way which is desired by the owner.

This system further demands the introduction of a power squeeze crush with panels that actually swing inwards and forwards in order to hold an animal securely. This also helps them get rid of the struggling process in which many times they end up hurting themselves. An accurate size gap between the head yoke and the side gate is required so that a convenient access to the animal’s neck is provided as it is important for the TB testing.

The design is also expected to have the panels swinging upwards as they swing in so that the entire process is well managed and cattle enjoy enough space.

Need and Ways to Clean Filter Cloth for Improved Results

Filter Cloth New Zealand - New Bridge Services

It is very important to take proper care of filter cloth as it plays an integral part in enhancing the performance of the filter press. The filter cloth is believed to serve as the initial barrier that is responsible for separation of solid particles from the liquid portion of the slurry. During the filtration process, the filter cloth starts accumulating microscopic particles which eventually become plugged.  This is many times responsible for a lower rate of filtration and a wet filter cake, which after some time reduces the efficiency of the filter press significantly.

Cleaning filter cloth is quite easy as it just involves few simple steps. The cloth can be cleaned without being removed from the filter plates. The most common method is cleaning the filter cloths by using a portable cold-water pressure sprayer. The only thing that one needs to take care of is not put the sprayer too close to the cloth as it may tear. It is best recommended to keep the spray pressure under 1,000 PSI in order to avoid kind of damage to the cloth.

In many cases, acid wash is also recommended as the dust particles won’t get separated with water spray. However, just remember that acid washing is only an option in case the chemistry of the sludge is reversible and not anything else.
